I believe stories enrich our lives especially when it comes to things we use on a daily basis. They provide background information, context and give identity. Take the local foods movement- there is a big emphasis on knowing your farmer, visiting the farm and knowing where your food is from. It is all part of a story, identity and context. It was from this belief that Quercus Woodworking was born.

Quercus woodworking specializes in crafting functionally artistic products that have a story. When it comes to trees, they are tied to a place much like a local food is- however they often have stood the test of time, growing many years. Being such a permanent fixture they are part of an interwoven history of humans and the land. One can put pieces of this history together to create a story based on clues in the landscape and trees. This history, known as a “natural history” provides background information, context and identity for each Quercus wood product. The rich natural history of New England lives on in each Quercus Woodworking product.
